The Missing Link In Healthcare With Dr Anoop Kumar

Posted by admin on February 2, 2024

Hello Readers,

While practicing Emergency Medicine, Dr Anoop Kumar had a very profound realization. That we have somewhere missed the bus and built the entire medical system on a misunderstood concept – that we are just the body. This pushed him to reconnect with his own traditions, explore other modalities and build a beautiful framework for how to live healthy.

In our recent conversations, he shares his take on what needs to change in the medical community.

Here are some of the insights that you should know.

  1. Our anatomical understanding of human beings is quite vast, but when you consider the infinite nature of humans, what we know is still a fraction of what is.
  2. We know so much about organs, systems, particle physics and molecular biology but there is nothing about mind, energy, consciousness or lifetimes that make us who we are.
  3.  This means, we only take the body into account and ignore every other aspect of being a human. Inevitably, when we model humans incompletely, we also diagnose them incompletely.
  4. We think Allopathy is the primary medicine, and nutrition, movement, connection and rest, the core of all other systems like Ayurveda, Chinese Medicine, etc are secondary. But ask yourself, what does complementary medicine mean? It’s something that is added on as an extra.
  5. But when you take nutrition, sleep, movement and connection away, no human survives. Let alone healing, even surviving is impossible. This is not complementary, this is primary. This inverted understanding is what needs to change.  Allopathy, by its true nature, is complementary.
  6. Today, a sick person is more valuable to the economy than a healthy person. It is unfortunate, but true. There is more money in prescribing pills, than asking you to eat well, sleep well or focus on your emotional health.
  7. If you are going to wait for the system to change, you will be at loss. Understand that your health is your choice and make the change today.

BALANCE THE MIGHTY VATA – ONLINE COURSE NOW AVAILABLE

What makes Ayurveda unique in its treatment approach is its practical wisdom on the concept of Vata. Vata is responsible for Prana – the life energy, nervous system – the master panel of our body, and our emotions. In Ayurveda, it is mentioned that controlling Vata is the most difficult part of healing and recovery.

Recently I have recorded a workshop on – Balancing The Mighty Vata which has over 6 hrs of content, with notes filled with practical inputs that can be integrated into our life.
